I have come to the conclusion that this plasma really might kill me. Why? Because the screen is so big, and everything looks so clear. Combine that with a Bose Home Theater System and that’s a sure death sentence.
I came home from school and made myself some yummy risotto and went into the living room to read the newspaper on the couch while I ate. I sat down and turned the TV to see if anything interesting was on before I started reading. For some reason the channel wouldn’t change and then I started pushing a few more buttons. The sound system ended up turning on so I got up and got closer to the TV because I though maybe the flowers on the coffee table might be getting in the way or something.
Right when I was just a few feet away from the TV, the channel changed and a lion came leaping at my face. No, the lion didn’t actually pop out of the ridiculously big plasma and actually attack me, but it felt like it did. It scared me and made me fall on my lovely butt, made me almost choke on the risotto I had in my mouth, and spilled the rest of the poor risotto on the floor.
I’m not sure what channel I turned to (most likely Animal Planet or National Geographic Channel), but I plan to avoid it in the future (at least until I am used to this new TV watching experience). I have to admit, I’m a bit scared to watch a movie now because it might just be the end of me, but I can’t live in fear forever. I must live through this.
So, I come with a warning to you all: Beware of the giant TVs with very clear picture that are hooked up to sound systems. They are more dangerous than you think.
