Tina The Explorer
Today is my first official day in my new apartment. Since I had only been here twice before (the day before yesterday to check out the place, and yesterday to move in all my stuff), I decided to go exploring. Here are a few of my observations:
- You can't throw coins into the giant fountain in the lobby. (I was about to throw in a penny when the guy at the front desk gave me an evil look and then I realized that there weren't any pennies in the fountain.)
- You can't really play the giant grand piano in the sitting area of the lobby unless you actually know how to play the piano. (I accidentally touched a key on the piano and since it scared me I sort of slipped a hit more keys and got dirty looks from a lady sitting on a nice cushiony chair.)
- You cant be loud in the library. (I went in there and my cellphone rang and I had to practically run out of there because a guy working on something looked like he wanted to kill me.)
- You can never go in the conference room because there might be something going on in there. (It was really quiet so I figure no one was in there and I just wanted to see what the conference room looked like... It wasn't empty.)
- The resident's lounge is pretty boring. (Two ladies were having a conversation about trees for half an hour and tried to get me to join so. I ended up saying I had to go because I had something in the oven. I now realize that was probably a really stupid thing to say.)
- You can't stand around and admire the weird fountain in the garden. (Apparently, if you look at it too long they think that you're planning to do something and then they start to follow you.)
- You must be very alert because there are statues everywhere and they will catch you off guard. (I was walking through the garden and a statue of a little kid's torso nearly scared me half to death. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.)
- You can't walk into to gym without wearing gym clothes and having the intention of working out. (Again, I got weird looks.)
- The shiny floors are very slippery. (I almost broke my neck because I was walking too quick in the lobby.)
- Old guys should never wear speedos. (I went by the pool and I thought I was going to go blind when I saw him walk past me.)
I think exploring might have been a bad idea, but at least I learned a lot from it. I think this place is going to take some getting use to, and hopefully my curiosity won't get the best of me.
